Free 1-2-1 Surgeries for Advice on Environmental Land Management Scheme
To assist farmers and landowners, Lambert & Foster are offering free 1-2-1 meetings to advise on how the transition will affect your holding, whether as in-hand farmer, tenant, grazier or landlord. New guidance released by Defra in January has confirmed that ELMS will now comprise:
- Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI)
- Countryside Stewardship (CS)
- Countryside Stewardship Plus (CS+) – note that Local Nature Recovery (LNR) has been scrapped
- Landscape Recovery
Whilst there are still a number of unknowns, the recent announcements by Defra provides a degree of clarity which we have not had to date. With BPS payments in 2023 between 55% and 65% of what they were in 2020, this new guidance may finally allow farmers and land managers to make some informed decisions.
